Board Member: Carol Steinour (2027)

Carol Steinour recently retired from the full-time practice of law and is now focused on serving as a community volunteer. Carol and her husband, Bob Young, have two children who have already graduated from high school. They are delighted to be grandparents to a three-year old grandson who will attend East Penn Area schools.

For 33 years, Carol practiced law at McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC, as a trial litigator. Prior to law school, Carol taught 7th grade for two years in Hialeah, Florida as part of a Mercy Corps volunteer group, and for one year in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Carol attended Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia and is currently on the College's Board of Trustees. Carol credits the Sisters of St. Joseph for providing an excellent education, instilling a belief that education can change lives and provide not just a living, but a way of life. Carol currently serves on the Board of Dauphin County CASA, an organization which provides Court Appointed Special Advocates to help foster children in Dauphin County.

Carol sought a position on the School Board as a way to give back to the community. She is committed to providing every child with an excellent education and opportunities in athletics, the arts, and other activities, and to fostering an inclusive community in which students learn to be caring and committed citizens. Carol is also committed to supporting teachers and administrators as they help children learn and grow at every developmental stage of their lives.

Carol's hope is that she will be able to help families and the school community work together, with our students as our inspiration and their best interests as our guiding principle.
