State School of Character

Schools around the country went through a rigorous application process for this prestigious honor, and only 73 schools nation-wide were named. In fact, our high school is the only school in the entire state of PA to be chosen.

The selection criteria was based on “…creating a caring school community where everyone feels they belong, providing students with opportunities to practice and reflect on their character strengths, and engaging families and communities as partners in the school’s character initiative.” It was noted in the award letter that our Character Education Committee has “…worked very hard and extensively…to lead and inspire all levels and stakeholders within the high school.”

We are thankful for the leadership of Mr. Dan Peck and Mr. Brian Moore, along with our Character Education Committee members Kelly Burkhart, Dave Blom, Margeaux Cronce, Leanne Sanders, Melina Mousoupetros, Betsy Standland, Ann Wotring, Stephen Rutt, Kirah Hoachlander, Christina Zeller, and Hillary Miller in securing this honor. We are Panther Proud!
