Dr. Donna Dunar
Dr. Dunar is Superintendent of Schools at EPASD. She desired to be a part of the East Pennsboro Area School District because it is a vibrant, growing community with great pride and a tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts. She was also drawn by how EPASD is committed to character development and this aspect is essential in our work with children.
“What stands out about EPASD to me is the great people. Folks here truly care and are genuinely kind! This makes all the difference to me.” said Dr. Dunar.
Dr. Dunar has served over 25 years in administrative roles in public schools in Bucks County, PA as high school assistant principal, elementary principal, director of elementary education and assistant superintendent, K-12. She especially enjoyed her years of teaching students French and English and making a difference for the better in their lives. As she continues her life’s work, she says, “I am still a teacher.”
She believes the Board is unified in their mission to build on continuous improvement, building on good to great and being the very best we can be. For her, this mission is inspirational as we share the most important common goal–to make the learning of students and staff the most important thing.
Her life’s work as a teacher has been to make a difference in the lives of students, to inspire, motivate and prepare students to achieve their hopes and dreams, to be prepared for life, for career and college. As the superintendent, she is committed to putting in place, systems to help each and every student to be his and her best academic, social and emotional self. With a focus on the “whole child” and keeping in mind the uniqueness of each and every child and with the belief that “together we learn; learning is the work,” Dr. Dunar serves as a change agent for all EPASD students and to support the community.
In her free time, Dr. Dunar enjoys spending time with my husband, two teenage sons, dog and three cats. She enjoys spending time outdoors–walking, kayaking and reading a good book.
