Activities

Learning Support programs are offered to eligible students in inclusive and part-time special educational settings based on each student’s degree of need. An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is developed for each student with a focus on preparing for adult life.

Identified gifted students have the opportunity to participate in independent projects through the DISCOVER PROGRAM and/or Honors courses.

An active Student Assistance Team uses a systematic procedure to identify students who are experiencing school-related difficulties and provide help in the most appropriate manner possible.

The high school has two business labs equipped with the latest computers, business machines, and software such as Microsoft Office. In addition, all high school teachers have a laptop computer and a printer in their classrooms. Televisions are located in most classrooms.

East Pennsboro has an English as a Second Language (ESL) Program to instruct students in survival English and assist the staff in providing for the needs of students with limited English proficiency.

East Pennsboro students participate annually in competitions to challenge their abilities and experiment in advanced science and mathematics applications. Our students have traditionally done well in many competitions including the Capital Area Science and Engineering Fair and the Junior Academy of Science.

For a school of its size, East Pennsboro Area High School offers an extensive athletic program for students. Interscholastic sports include football, field hockey, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, swimming, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, and track and field.

The arts are alive and well at East Pennsboro Area High School. Our award-winning Panther Marching Band performs at all football games and goes on the road to delight music lovers with its showmanship and musical precision.  Small band and choral ensembles demonstrate their musical talent in the community throughout the year.

East Pennsboro’s Annual Spring Musical is the talk of the town, with aspiring young actors and actresses entertaining audiences with such Broadway classics as Annie, A Funny thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Music Man, West Side Story, South Pacific, Anything Goes, Singin’ in the Rain, and Fiddler on the Roof.

Pay to Participate Overview

The East Pennsboro Board of Directors has instituted a fee associated with extra-curricular programs and activities that are conducted at a cost to the District. The fee for the 2018-2019 School Year for Activities and Clubs is $27 or $13 per activity, per student. Those who can produce District documentation confirming reduced or free lunch are assessed $11 and $0 respectively.  The fees for activities vary depending upon the tier into which they fall (see below).  The maximum per student charge in the school year is $100 for all fees and a family maximum of $200.  While we will do everything possible to track these costs, we ask that you inform us when you approach either maximum so that we do not overcharge you. Please make check payable to ‘EPASD’.
