East Pennsboro Area School District is taking part in the 2019 Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS) sponsored by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs. The Commonwealth uses this survey of 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th graders to learn about their behavior, attitudes, and knowledge concerning alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and violence.

As a result of the survey, schools, state agencies, legislators, and others will have access to information about use and abuse of harmful substances and harmful behaviors. This knowledge helps community leaders to provide resources where they will have the greatest impact on our youth. At EPASD, this data helps us to ensure that we fulfill our mission to develop the whole child through relevant experiences that inspire passion and empower success.

Parents and guardians of students who will be asked to participate in this voluntary survey will receive a letter through the Sapphire student portal with additional information.

The survey will be administered according to the following schedule:

  • Middle School – October 17, 2019
  • High School – October 18, 2019
