Anne Alger was elected to the Board of School Directors in November 2011. She has been involved with the District prior to her school board position as a parent and volunteer. Alger sits on the following committees: PSBA Council Representative, District Assessment, Key Communicators, Extra Duty and Professional Education.
Alger has resided in East Pennsboro Township since November 1986 and has participated in numerous community and school activities, such as the High School Athletic Boosters Club. Ms. Alger’s two daughters graduated from East Pennsboro Area High School in 2007 and 2008.
Alger has worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania since November 1974 at both the Public School Employees’ Retirement System and the State Employees’ Retirement System. Holding positions in the Chief Counsel’s Office and the Communications and Policy Office, Ms. Alger gained extensive experience and knowledge of the member benefits plans, budgetary operations, investment programs, and legislative initiatives.
She is serving as a School Board Director to contribute to the education and well-being of East Pennsboro’s future leaders. As a 28-year resident of East Pennsboro and parent of two former East Pennsboro students, she brings commitment and passion for excellence in education.
