Mr. Jonathan Bucher, Principal

Before joining the East Pennsboro team, he has served as a classroom teacher and Special Education Consultant at the IU 13, as well as an Assistant Principal at Manheim Township Middle School and Warwick High School.
Jonathan is a 1996 graduate of Greenwood High School, where he played football (at Newport High School), and basketball on the 1996 Undefeated District 3 championship team and threw shot put and discus for the track team.
After high school, he earned a football scholarship to play at Millersville where he was an All-Conference, 3-year starter at defensive tackle on the 1998 Conference Championship team. In 1999 he was named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, one of the most coveted off-the-field honors in college football. The Good Works Team® award recognizes college football players who dedicate their time to bettering the community and the lives of others. Other famous recipients of the award are Eli Manning in 2002 and Peyton Manning in 1997.
Outside of school Jonathan enjoys spending time with his wife, twin children, and American Bulldog named Crush. He also enjoys working on old homes in his spare time.

Mr. Brian Moore, Assistant Principal

On Thursday September 7th, the School Board of East Pennsboro Area School District appointed Mr. Brian Moore as the Assistant Principal of East Pennsboro Area High School.  Mr. Moore earned his Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education Social Studies with a second major in History from York College of Pennsylvania.  He then earned his Master’s in Teaching and Curriculum from The Pennsylvania State University.  In 2006, he earned his Principal / Supervisory Certificate from The Pennsylvania State University.  Mr. Moore began his career as a teacher at East Pennsboro Area Middle School.  He taught 7th grade World History for twenty years.  He was also the Boy’s Varsity Soccer Head Coach for seven years and the assistant coach for four years.  This school year marks the start of Mr. Moore’s twenty-first year as an educator in our district.  Mr. Moore is also an accomplished martial artist.  He is a fourth degree black belt in Aikido.  He owns and operates a local martial arts school.  Mr. Moore is excited to continue his career in public education as an administrator at East Pennsboro Area High School.  His goals are to improve the educational experience of our students and help them grow as young ladies and gentlemen and better prepare them for life after high school.

Mr. Christopher Skaugen, Director of Athletics and Student Activities

Mr. Christopher Skaugen, Director of Athletics and Activities, began his career at East Pennsboro Area School District as the West Creek Hills Elementary School Health & Physical Education Teacher in August of 2005. In September of 2011, he transferred positions to teach Health & Physical Education at East Pennsboro Area High School.  Upon his transfer to the High School, he also assumed the roles of head cross country coach (6-years) and head track & field coach (5-years).  He earned a Bachelor’s of Science for K-12 Health & Physical Education from Slippery Rock University, a Master’s of Exercise Science:  Fitness and Wellness Track from California University of Pennsylvania, and a Post-Bachelor's Letter of Completion for Intercollegiate Athletic Administration from California University of Pennsylvania.  Some of Mr. Skaugen's major accomplishments while at East Pennsboro include receiving (2) Highmark Foundation Healthy High 5 grants to purchase DanceDance Revolution and bicycles/helmets/sheds for both elementary schools; working with Kallan's Klan to complete the Kallan's Korner Fitness Trail at West Creek Hills Elementary; coaching (1) boys cross country team, (4) girls cross country teams, (1) girls track & field team, and (1) boys track & field team to Mid Penn Capital Division Championships;  seeing (14) track & field school records broken during his head coaching tenure; having (1) District III cross country and (2) District III track & field champions as a part of his teams; and sending (7) individual cross country athletes (2 medalists) and (5) individual track & field athletes (2 medalists) to the PIAA State Championships.
