Janice Brougher-Roos, class of 1987.
Inspired to pursue her passion to teach children the art of dance, Janice is the owner and artistic director of Studio ’91, a business she established over 20 years ago that specializes in dance instruction. Janice provides a positive example to her students, helping them develop confidence, self-esteem, and the required discipline to succeed in their future pursuits.
While her dedication is fueled by dance, the dedication to her students, the art and the community are the priorities that define her as a role model for future graduates of East Pennsboro Area High School. Miss Janice (an oft-used name of respect) has demonstrated her leadership and ongoing commitment toward helping others via her volunteer work with the East Pennsboro Education Foundation, American Cancer Society, Greater Harrisburg Arts Council and local churches.
Janice helped organize the 2012 Dancing with the East Pennsboro Stars fundraising event for the East Pennsboro Education Foundation and has been a guest speaker in East Pennsboro Area School District classrooms promoting the virtues of cooperation. In addition to choreographing musicals for East Pennsboro Area High School, she designed and conducted new dance programs for the East Pennsboro LEAP Program, East Pennsboro and Fredrickson Libraries, Enola Emmanuel United Methodist Church, and the West Shore Recreation and Leisure Services. Janice is a frequent speaker/participant at American Cancer Society events. She is a long-time pace setter for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. To date, Team “Studio ’91s Making a Pointe Against Breast Cancer” has raised over $140,000.
As an individual, instructor, and business owner, Janice is an outstanding personal and professional example of a passionate and positive role model for all East Pennsboro students. East Pennsboro is proud to induct Mrs. Janice Brougher-Roos into the Panther Alumni Wall of Honor.
